Why do you need training?
“I have the responsibility for all State Buildings & personnel within two counties as well as the responsibility of leading our Special response teams. This training will aid in the training and information we disseminate to our partners & personnel.”
“The skills taught during this course have given me a better understanding of filtering and creating a baseline while out in busy public environments.”
“They provide a systematic and effective process for identifying potential threats and aid aspects of personal security.”
“They provide a structured method, which I can articulate. The method enhances my ability to determine a baseline, and to explain why an individual is a person of interest.”
“My routine assignments require the observation of persons within my facility. By understanding a baseline and being able to articulate that baseline, I am better prepared to complete reports and investigations relative to my observations and deviations from our facility baseline.”
“Our mission is to reduce crime and improve the quality of life through a partnership with all citizens. After taking this course, I have learned tools and techniques to make me a better officer and a better trainer; which in turn will help keep our citizens safe from threats.”
“I am often watching people and their behavior and now have a better understanding of indicators that a person may be armed.”
“We use these techniques everyday, but many of us have never been able to articulate the "why" in what we see. This program gives us a way to describe and explain what took us years to observe. This is going to be fantastic for our new officers, who will have the fortune of learning this without having to wait for years to experience it.”
“For the street office this is systematic way to heighten there awareness and provide them a tool to quickly establish norms for the event they are working. It also provides new skills for identifying threats even when not evaluating a larger venue but even in a 1 on 1 with a subject they may encounter.”
“Course techniques are relevant and useful for both on the job and off the job. I try to teach my family about situational awareness. This class add to my current level of knowledge.”
“In patrol operations, these are skills that will benefit all of us in identifying and explaining suspicious activity as well as keeping us safe.”
“The techniques are important to my mission because a lot of police work is speaking to people, reading people, reading body language and non-verbal cues. This course covered all but speaking to people.”
“This will help me to explain to SRO's, school admin and teachers on what to look for when assessing students with possible weapons or becoming a POI.”
“I believe the techniques will help create a faster "response" time in finding potential threats. First responders are often tasked with a chaotic interaction of both individuals and groups, and within today's society, with everyone gathering around to witness what is going on - this information will help them make a quicker assessment of their surroundings.”
“Helps me to observe camera footage and do crowd surveillance while using a security camera. Also helps me to identify a threat and be able to decipher if someone is carrying contraband.”
“As a security professional, the techniques discussed in this program will directly contribute to the overall safety of our employees, contractors, visitors, assets, and the company's image. Being able to target possible threats and articulate the reasoning for targeting individuals will be greatly beneficial to overall safety and reputation.”
“I oversee a number of individuals who must utilize video, and it will help me to communicate with them better. We use video recordings to investigate safety issues, and I feel I can better interpret the images on the video. Many of our people have to interact with the general public in the office and outside the office. This training allows me to communicate with them better on keeping themselves safe by recognizing hazards.”
“Our mission involves access control, incident response, cctv monitoring, investigations, violence deescalation, and inspections. The techniques provide a template for implementing the mission operations in a systemic manner which enhances efficiency and effectiveness. The systematization also helps diminish allegations of discrimination when security personnel execute their duties. “
“In my opinion, behavioral recognition and threat recognition are one of the most important skills a security professional can have, I have taken several courses on this subject matter, and read every book on the subject. I have to say this course has done the best job of making the information readily available to learn in a user-friendly format. It is also the best-orchestrated course I have taken online.”
“As director of a church-based volunteer safety and security ministry, surveillance is the number one skill we can develop to better protect our environment and is a great pro-active tool.”
“Great functional tools: methodical observation techniques to quickly develop a behavior baseline and then further ascertain roles, objectives, and any deviations from the norm. Quickly assess possible threats: Threat Indicators, when found in clusters, will add to the JDLR picture to help keep me, my team and the public more safe.”
“Being made aware of the baselining process. I have always been comfortable picking out suspicious persons or potential threats but having a better understanding of the Baselining Process will improve my skills”
“Working at a level 1 trauma center, you interact and deal with different people constantly. I find that this has opened up my awareness when it comes to homeless people or people trying to steal from the hospital what to look for and how to stop them from succeeding in their mission.”
“The whole course was valuable, but the course that I obtained the most knowledge from was course 3. It opened my eyes up to some of the weaknesses that I needed to improve on and how to better spot a person/persons attempting to do harm to other visitors, patients, and employees.”
